This notice describes what this site does with information about you. It is written against the way the site is built, and it changes when the site changes. It is short because the site does very little with information, and we would rather say exactly what it does than describe a process it does not have.
What this site collects
Nothing you do not send us. There are no accounts and no sign-in. No form on this site sends what you type to us.
The enquiry form on the enquiries page works by composing an email in your own mail application. When you press the button, the site hands your mail application a draft addressed to us, with what you typed in the body. Nothing is sent until you send it, from your own address, and the site does not receive, store or forward a copy. If you close the draft, nothing has left your computer. The form does not carry files. If you want to send us a drawing set, you attach it to the email yourself, and it travels the way any email attachment travels.
What we receive, therefore, is an email you chose to send. That is the only way information about you reaches us from this site.
What we never ask for
The site asks for nothing about you at all, and the enquiry form asks only for what a reply needs: a name to address, an organisation to understand, an email address to answer, the line you are building on, and your message. It does not ask for a postal address, a date of birth, a payment card, a password or any way to reach you other than the address you write from, and it never will, because none of those is needed to read a drawing set and answer a question about it. If a page on this site ever asks for one of them, the page is wrong and this notice is the one to hold it against.
What the site itself records
The site is a set of static pages served by our hosting provider. Like any web server, that provider records the ordinary details of a request in its logs: the network address the request came from, the page asked for, the time, and the description your browser gives of itself. Those logs exist to operate the service and to defend it, and they are the provider's, kept under the provider's own terms. We do not add anything to them. There is no analytics script on this site, no tracking pixel, and no advertising code, and we do not build a profile of who reads what.
Cookies
This site sets no cookie of its own, and every page works without one. Our hosting provider may set a cookie of its own when it defends the site against automated traffic. That cookie is the provider's, it carries nothing about you that we read, and we do not use it.
Type, scripts and other files
The typefaces on this site and the small script that runs the menu are served from this site's own address. Nothing is loaded from a third-party host. Opening a page here sends a request to our hosting provider and to nobody else.
What we do with your email
An email you send us is correspondence, and we treat it as correspondence. We read it, we answer it, and we keep it for as long as the conversation it belongs to is live, and afterwards as a record of what was asked and what was answered. We do not sell it, we do not share it outside Wired Industries except where you have agreed in writing, and we do not add your address to a list. If you ask us to delete what we hold, we delete what we are not required to keep, and we tell you what that is.
If your enquiry leads to work, the drawing set, the specification and the correspondence around it become part of the record of that work, and they are kept for as long as the record is, because a harness has to be traceable to the drawing it was built from for the life of the machine it is on.

The law that applies
Wired Industries is in Alberta, and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act governs how a private-sector organisation here collects, uses and keeps personal information. You may ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask a question about this notice, by writing to the address in the footer. We answer in writing.
When this notice changes
A privacy notice is a description of behaviour, and a description of behaviour is true only while the behaviour lasts. When a form on this site starts sending its contents to us directly, when a new address receives what you send, when anything is stored, or when the legal basis for keeping something changes, this notice changes in the same release as the site. If the notice says the form sends nothing to us, that is because the form sends nothing to us.
What we refuse
- We do not run analytics on this site and we do not load a third party's script into it.
- We do not sell, rent or share correspondence.
- We do not keep what we do not need.
- And we do not describe a practice this site does not have, in this notice or anywhere else on it.
